The system can analyze a stencil‘s Gerber data via its DFM Health Check function. The simulated printing process identifies critical areas in the stencil design and issues recommendations for printing process parameters long before the first board enters the line. Core components are the Process Lens hardware and the Process Engine software. Process Lens is a 3D SPI system that generates measurement data for the ongoing analysis of printing results. It uses an advanced moiré fringe projection method that generates line patterns electronically via Digital Light Processor chip with eight million movable mini-mirrors. All data generated is transferred to databases and analyzed by Process Engine. With this data, the expert system is able to control the printing processes not only based on parameters entered by the operator – it is also the first solution capable of automatically stabilizing and optimizing the printing process.

Teil der ‚Flexible Quality Line‘ von ASM ist Process Expert, ein Inline-Expertensystem für SMT-Prozesse. Der sichtbare Teil des Systems ist Process Lens. Dieses neuartige 3D-SPI-System arbeitet extrem präzise, schnell und flexibel, weil es für die Erzeugung der Moire-Streifenmuster mit elektronisch steuerbaren Mikrospiegeln arbeitet. Die absoluten Messergebnisse werden in Wissensdatenbanken gespeichert und von der Software Process Engine in Echtzeit ausgewertet. Dabei begnügt sich Process Expert nicht mit der Kontrolle der Druckqualität über einstellbare Schwellwerte, sondern kann als selbstlernendes Expertensystem erstmals Druckprozesse autonom stabilisieren und optimieren.
