The core of the technology is a mobile head, capable of accommodating a 12 cm x 12 cm or 21 cm x 21 cm test fixture controlled in the 4 degrees of freedom: X, Y, Z, and W. A SMEMA-compliant conveyor can load, lock, and carry the board in a production line. The mechanics of the test system are controlled by the consolidated VIVA software, which monitors test programming and motion. It also ensures that the fixture can fit any board arrangement within a panel, in the event for instance, that boards are arranged in the panels with different rotations. The head of the Pilot4D FX is largely a mobile receiver, capable of housing a minimized fixture implementing the essential system resources required to test a single board. Reliability and efficiency are guaranteed in the choice of materials and contact solutions, capable of interfacing IEEE488, OBP, JTAG, CAN and other standard hardware and software protocols. Therefore, this type of solution was created for the shared use of expensive test resources for board panels. Unlike a standard bed of nails tester, the hardware resources are integrated only once. The Pilot4D FX is equipped with color cameras and a 19“ Rack for the integration of specific customized equipment. It recognizes various types of barcodes such as 2D barcodes, QR codes, etc.
