For this purpose, a standard PCB magazine is modified for the use of PCB stacks. The solution can both unload assembled PCBs from a magazine and separate raw PCBs from the stack. There is no need for an additional stack loader in the line, nor do operators have to intervene manually in the process. The raw circuit boards are transported as a stack inside the magazine with AIV and automatically fed to the system. Several stacks of raw circuit boards can be picked up by lateral insert plates with supporting surfaces. The magazine can be converted from a standard PCB magazine to a stack magazine and vice versa in a matter of seconds. With the use of an RFID tag on the magazine and readers at the loading station, it can be automatically recognized whether the magazine is a standard PCB or a stacked magazine.
