How did you or your company deal with the Corona restrictions? What measures have been taken to deal with the situation?
Renesas: We are following guidelines from the government and local authorities and implementing best practices to keep our operations running effectively. While our precautionary measures vary by region, employees are instructed to work from home as a standard policy. In China, employees coming into the office must wear a face mask, and to avoid busy rush-hour public transport when commuting by using the Flex-Time policy.
Employees are also asked to refrain from making non-essential and non-urgent trips, both domestic and international, as well as personal trips. This applies to employees in all regions and must obtain permission from local HR if there are any unavoidable business trips.
They must also report their physical conditions (such as fever, symptoms of a cold, loss of taste or sense of smell etc.) as well as the physical conditions of family members of the same household.
Factories and offices in China are following social distancing guidelines such as keeping to one person per table in the canteen.
What is the exit strategy to return to a „normal“ working day and what time frame do you plan for this?
Renesas: We will continue to follow guidelines from the government and local authorities and implementing best practices to keep our operations running effectively. We cannot make comments on when we believe we can „return“ to a normal working day at this current time.
Will the corona-related restrictions change your working day and organization in the long term, even after the end of the epidemic? In what way?
Renesas: At this current time, we are uncertain of the changes this Covid-19 will bring Renesas in the long term so would like to refrain from making comments.
What kind of political support would you wish for and what measures are necessary to return to a normal working day?
Renesas: We are not in a position to make a comment regarding politics. We hope for a speedy recovery for those who have been affected by Covid-19 and we will continue providing innovative solutions that aid the combat against Covid-19.
How does the situation affect start-ups in particular? Will they find it more difficult to implement their plans?
Renesas: We are not in a position to make a comment on behalf of other companies.
