Missing data from pcbs recovered
Digitizer 2.0 from Digitaltest is a software helping to recover the CAD design of printed circuit boards (pcb) with obsolete or missing CAD information by photographic imaging with a CCD camera. This is important for industrial plants and machines, trains and planes with several decades of usage.
If the pcbs inside can no longer be repaired, obsolescence is caused. With the help of the software the board data are re-created and all the connectivity is learnt. A CAD file for the board can then be generated that has all the board components and nets and that can be used in repair and/or re-manufacturing. The output can be used with bed of nails or flying probe testers to test boards of the same type. The output can also be used as an input to other processes that can re-produce the schematics and re-manufacture the board. Pcb’s with insulating varnish layers can be penetrated also.
