The solution is available globally with short lead times, being just weeks. Typical payback time for the JOT V4 assembly cell, based on total cost calculations, is less than 14 months even in China. With the lean cell, the assembly of small, performance-critical components, like cameras, microphones, speakers, touch screens and vibras, is made reliable and easy, no special operator skills are needed. The JOT V4, based on standard modules, is applicable for dozens of use cases. Besides performance-critical component assembly, the applications include, for example, tapes and gaskets assembly, vision-based component assembly, component testing, screw inserting and dispensing. For machine vision with up to four cameras, the integration of most of the applications is a fast and straightforward task. The reusability of the platform is close to 90 %. Furthermore, the scalable solution can be used as a stand-alone desktop unit or as a part of a fully automated production line. Both in-line and off-line versions are available, and it fits all factory layouts due to its numerous feeding options and minimal footprint of 0.35 m².
