“Colleague robot” assumes placement tasks
Ersa’s Roboplace rings in a new era in man/machine collaboration during the soldering process. With its flexible dual arm technology it frees up the operator from manual placement to turn to more demanding tasks. Protective guarding is not required.
The robot assumes monotonous, repetitive placement task for small to medium production volumes with few THT components on complex board assemblies. While it does not replace the operators, it rather permits their transfer to perform higher-valued tasks. The lean concept in combination with the smart factory is implemented and a link to Factory 4.0 (Industry 4.0) is prepared. The robot is deployed in front of selective- or wave soldering systems and does not require any safety guards, because the arms move relatively slow. Therefore the dual gripper arms makes the robot twice as fast. The robot system communicates with the line, for example via SMEMA interface to the loading system.
