The growth of electromobility has gained international momentum over the past ten years. Governments are taking measures to increase the market share of electric vehicles by 2030. Particularly in recent years, the number of public charging stations worldwide has increased significantly, a consequence of the rising sales of electric cars. A rapid expansion of fast-charging stations, as well as improved access to charging station networks and interoperability, is of utmost priority.
“Our certification by UL Solutions is a major step forward for fast charging. It helps to increase the acceptance of electric vehicles through more efficient and convenient charging. Additionally, the certification according to UL 2202 gives our partners the assurance that the HYC400 fast-charging station offers the promised performance and safety,” explains Phillip Senoner, co-founder, CEO and chairman of the board of Alpitronic.
The EV Charging Test Center in Neu-Isenburg is part of a global network of testing facilities by UL Solutions that support the electrification of transport. The network in Europe includes the Battery Engineers by UL Solutions, a battery testing laboratory in Aachen, and CERE by UL Solutions, a microgrid/distributed energy resource laboratory in Madrid. In the USA, there is the North America Advanced Electric Vehicle Charging Laboratory in Northbrook, Illinois, as well as the EV Charging Test Center in Fremont, California. UL Solutions has made a significant expansion with the recently opened North America Advanced Battery Laboratory in Auburn Hills, Michigan, which is one of the largest facilities for battery testing and development in North America. UL Solutions is also represented in Asia with several laboratories to cater to customer needs in the field of electromobility and EV batteries through local experts.
